Before you decide to write a book, ask yourself who is going to buy it. This is the first question any publisher or book agent is going to ask you. Do you have a fan base? Are you well known in the area that your book will address? Are you a media personality, social media influencer, or quasi-celebrity? Selling a book is not the only benefit of writing a book, but it’s a great question in which to begin the process. If this is your first book, beware of the book business charlatans who claim that writing and selling a book is fast and easy, because any honest, successful author will tell you the opposite. Writing a good book that sells is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, yet after selling 1.8 million copies of my books around the world, its also been the most rewarding. Bottom line is that if you approach the process knowing that it’s going to be a lot of work, yet a labor of love, you’ll most likely have the emotional endurance required to do it right and succeeed. In this episode of the Author Speaker Podcast, I dissect this process from the beginning. #personaldevelopment #author #keynotespeaking
