We are living in unprecedented times. The economy is in turmoil. Corporate America is sitting on two trillion dollars in cash, ( 7.4 % of their total assets, the largest percentage since 1959) unsure of what to invest in or how to move forward without going broke. I’ve traveled around the world this year, reaching more than 50 million people in the media, and the feedback I’ve gotten from Miami to Sydney is the same: people are scared. They don’t know what the future holds or how to proceed. They’re afraid their kids won’t have as much opportunity as they have had. They need the kind of world-class motivation, inspiration and business expertise only professional speakers can provide. The world has never needed us as much as they do in 2011. Meanwhile, with corporations and associations cutting back on hiring professional speakers, many speakers who have been in the business for 10, 15, and even 20 years are going back to the job market and giving up on their speaking careers. If you think this is a bad thing, think again. This is the greatest opportunity that new and emerging speakers will ever have to break into this business. If you’ve been dreaming about becoming a professional speaker or moving to the next level as a speaker, this is your BIG chance. I speak (no pun intended) from experience. My big break came in the last major crisis in the speaking industry, which occurred after 9/11, when companies froze travel and canceled their conventions. Hundreds of speakers left the business, which was the break I needed to move in. You can do the same in 2011. Watch this video I shot on 7-mile beach in Jamaica, and I think you’ll understand. You are absolutely right Steve and I plan for the world to hear a lot more from me in 2011.

Once again a very timely reminder of how ‘when the going gets tough the tough get going’. and the ‘Secret’ is to keep at it. The old country song ‘When you’re going through hell keep on going’ comes to mind. and as you say the time is right to make that extra push. You cant fail at anything if you dont at least try, so lookout here I come. this will be a great learning year for me and I have set my goals accordingly. bless you and yours Steve cheers John
This is tremendous encouragement for us all. The world has become ultra-competitive and clearly those that are mentally tough and inspired performers have the best chance. Good luck to everyone for 2011. Thanks Steve for all the ‘nuggets’ of inspiration in 2010.

Happy New Year Dawn & Steve!!!
always the best,

What a timely and wise statement! You sure know how to encourage people Steve! You hit the nail on the head with this one. “There are more problems out there than ever before and it’s time for us Speakers to solve them and make money”. You made my day! Possibly my year.
Happy 2011,
Rick Titan
Happy New Year Steve!!!
I love your enthusiasm about this! Thank you!
I would like to learn more about public speaking… not my thing 🙂
But I like the way you say something like “the stronger people will success”! I feel strong enough… that´s good.
Ligth and Love, and happy 2011!
Marisa
My plan for 2011 is to spend my time working on my skills in order to perfect my craft with every ounce of determination, drive and work ethic it takes to become successful, not only for myself but for the benefit of many others along the way.
2011 is filled with overflowing abundance for ALL of us. I agree with you Steve. Some will make it this year, and others will not. Those who will, will spend their time working to become successful and their efforts will pay off because they refused to be lazy. Not meant to be a slam on anybody, but the truth is the human race is inherently lazy. We all are. Myself included. Those who succeed will be the ones who pass up the LazyBoy at the end of a 9 to 5 day, and those who, in the words of Nido Qubein will beat their “opportunity clock” by 10 minutes every morning vs. hitting the snooze button a few times after the alarm clock has gone off.
Every day is a new opportunity. Those who will succeed in 2011 will be the ones who wake up and recognize the many opportunities that awaits them each day, and then, with a grateful heart, they will go out and seize those days. One right after the other.
Personally? I’m planning on having 100%, nothing but the best, pure success in 2011!
Carpe Diem Baby!! Who’s coming with me?
Cheers!
Happy New Year!
Lisa & Theron
Yes, 2011 will be a great year for anyone that really wants to “go for it.”
The best to Steve and Dawn and all of you on the speaking trail.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year and MUCH SUCCESS!
Thanks Steve – I agree that the climate seems good. People are searching for answers and inspiration (I know I am!). Just out of curiosity, what areas of speaking do your predict will be in most demand i.e. motivational, educational, entertainment etc..?
Cheers from Sydney!
