The speaking business has been good to me over the past 23-years, but going from coaching to speaking at Fortune 500 conventions around the world was a big leap—that in some ways, I wasn’t fully prepared. Working with many of the world’s largest sales teams was a privilege, but in many cases I wasn’t giving them what they were asking for. If you’re a new or emerging speaker, you will probably come to the same crossroad, at which time you’ll have to decide which to travel. My road was not only more difficult, it also cost me a fortune. This 7-minute video may save you millions in lost speaking revenue, and I doubt you’ll hear any other speaker discuss it.

Telling the truth reveals who you are which is always more important than who you pretend to
be because you’ll know where you stand and who’s with you!
Because you’re a Stand Up guy Steve.
Tell them the truth or celebrate their poor performance/mediocrity? Everyone being so
sensitive, and the youth being bubble wrapped these days, it is an interesting question. Thanks
for sharing this message today!
You make so many excellent points in this
vlog! Thank you for sharing.
Your right Steve,
I see it all the time people speaking
and lying ?, to much BS to make a
buck. Like you, I couldn’t sleep at
night if I did that. Snowflakes today
get so offended. But at the end of
the day we respect you for you
honesty Steve.
Lying for an extra 20 million for sure
wasn’t worth it! I like the thought let
the facts tell the story.
Thanks, Frank
Steve, great message as usual. I gently dont agree that it was a mistake. You are able to live
with yourself. plus if you told them they were great and they were not performing eventually
you would not have additional gigs since your result would show these companies that you
were lying.
Thanks, Mark!
Steve, I enjoyed the video!
The life you are living now…. could you put a price tag on it? Perhaps you could have all the ‘things’ you now have by living a lie. But would you have the same joy and happiness? Certainly you would not have the satisfaction in holding true to your values.
Steve awesome content!
Thanks, Nick!
