The professional speaking business has been massively disrupted in the past few years. Selling audio/video programs is now a relic of the past, costing speakers millions in revenue and profits. Yet the next disruption will be even bigger, and threatens to shake the entire profession to its core. The biggest victim may be the National Speakers Association, which was hammered in the recession and will be forced to fight for its very existence. The key to staying relevant and profitable through this next disruption is preparation, and this is what this video is all about. Prepare today and profit tomorrow. The speakers that do will reach more fans and earn more money than ever, and the speakers that wait for the disruption to occur will be out of business. Watch this short video and I’ll look forward to your comments.

Steve,
For back end are you refering to
training/coaching/consulting
offerings?
We know now that some people think that age is fluid, have you adopted
that position?
I am kidding, just a minor misspelling.
Steve, great post. You are always two steps ahead of the crowd. I agree
with your concepts. In fact, technological advances are disrupting all
sectors. In my view, the value of providing speeches in person will not be
replaced by online speeches. Human interaction cannot be replaced by
virtual interaction.
Toastmasters is using now meetings online. The comment about this in
the Toastmasters magazine was that the connection is also virtual (body
language , eye contact, etc., missed).
Good information Steve. Always good to adapt to changes. Thanks for
your insight.
Wow, Steve, of course I hope you’re wrong — but I suspect you may be
right. All the signs are there. Looking forward to future posts regarding
how we can survive (and thrive) through the disruption. Thanks!
Hey Steve, looking forward to
rejoining you guys soon!

Me too, Jim, but I think the writing is on the wall. NSA will be slow to respond, which I believe will be its downfall.
I hope I’m wrong. Maybe they will be better under new leadership. Good to hear from you my friend! Hope you are well!
Back end is anyway you get paid beyond the fee.
